Boulder Velo Racing Team
Boulder Velo Racing (BVR) is a Boulder Colorado based, ACA-registered, bike racing team. Our team was established to support the growing demand for competitive amateur racing in Boulder county, and to help evolve excellent bicycle awareness and stewardship within our community.

Background:
Many members of this new team raced together on another local team in 2006, and collectively won the ACA's "BAT" (Best All Around Team) designation for their Category. In addition, they also earned a first and third place result in the Colorado Cup, a season long road racing competition. Off the bike our members are seasoned business professionals and family oriented men who live and work in Boulder County. As such, we represent Boulder from a racing and community perspective.
Team Composition:
Even in its embryonic stage, the team has nearly 20 members. By the time the cycling season begins in March, we expect to have over 20 members. BVR offers a range of age and ability levels, but has a primary emphasis toward Category 3, 35+ open, 4/35+, and 45+ open.
Team Goals:
- As a new team, our goal for the 2007 season is to represent our sponsors at over 20 races during the season and to place within the top 5 in "BAT" for category 3.
- Establish a competitive, local cycling team that generates a positive association with our club, community, and subsequently our sponsors.
Our Mission:
Our members are cycling enthusiasts who share a passion and dedication to the sport of cycling. Many of our members compete in multiple disciplines of the sport and all of them train religiously on the roads in Boulder county year around. Our goal is to represent a Boulder-based sponsor and extend our cycling ambassadorship further into the Boulder community.
We have established a code of ethics that will govern our actions, and act as guiding principles in our recruiting:
- We will promote the sport of cycling and its associated lifestyle within the Boulder community.
- We prioritize teamwork over individual goals. A success shared by all is more important than the success of one. This approach affords each member of the BVR team the opportunity to succeed and celebrate in the overall success of the team. This will be realized both on and off the bike at team events, training rides and races.
- BVR represents our sponsor’s brands within both the cycling community and Boulder county.
