Who am I?: I am a happily married, masters bike racer living in east Boulder with my wife, stepdaughter, my knucklehead husky dog, and my wife’s 10 pound poodle. I used to be an avid rock climber and trail runner until tendonitis in my elbows and hips sent me ruefully to the couch popping antidepressants (just kidding about the anti-depressant part but I probably should have been on ‘em!). At that time I had a roommate who was into cycling and had a stack of old Tour de France videos that he would occasionally be playing on the TV. I was hooked and (discovering that cycling was tendon friendly) back off the couch (and the antidepressants that I wasn’t really on but should have been on). I have been racing for 10 years and enjoy rolling, windy road races the most (even better if they’re on dirt). In addition to riding, racing, and doing the family thing, I am slowly getting an undergraduate degree in International Affairs at CU and would like to follow that up with grad school.
